Two new security vulnerabilities have been discovered in Adobe Acrobat reader that could allow a potential attacker to execute malicious code on your computer. While this vulnerability hasn’t been seen in the wild yet, we’ve seen a proof of concept for each vulnerability proving the they do exist. If you don’t specifically need a feature in Acrobat Reader, there are a number of free alternatives that you can use such as Foxit and CutePDF.

If you do prefer Acrobat Reader, you can protect yourself from these two security holes by opening Acrobat Reader and going to Edit –> Preferences –> JavaScript –> Un-check “Enable Adobe JavaScript”.
